We currently have more than 500 orphans in India and Kenya all under the age of 11 who desperately need people willing to sponsor them through their education. Can you help?

Just £5 per month will help to feed, clothe and educate these children. In return we will send you a photo and brief details of your child with end of term updates concerning their progress. We can even organise for you to visit your child if you would like to do so.

We have two orphanages/schools situated near the city of Vijayawada in South East India.  The first one was founded in April 1997.

Many of these children have horrific stories to tell as to how they were forced to beg on the streets because their parents could no longer afford to feed them. Some have even been maimed to make them 'better beggars'. They had no future ahead of them except an early death from disease, beatings or starvation. Now they have a hope and a future.

We have just finished building another orphanage/school to house orphans of the Tsunami disaster at Jaggempeta.

It costs us approximately £20,000 to build and equip a single storey building (approximately $35,000).

Can you help us?  Perhaps get together with some friends or work colleagues and help to build a School.  We can arrange for your name to be engraved on the wall of the school in your name or in the name of a loved one for any donation over $100.

In Kenya we have an orphanage in the slums of Mathare, Nairobi. Some of the children are as young as 3 and 4 years old. Many have walked all the way from Somalia escaping the civil war there. They have no one to take care of them. Some are HIV positive or have already developed the full blown AIDS virus. They have been totally rejected and left to die. We are doing what we can to alleviate their sufferings.

Paul at the age of 14 years cycled almost 1000 miles from John O'Groats (Scotland) to Land's End raising £2,000 to buy land at Kitengela, 30 kms outside of Nairobi.  We will start building a school and an orphanage on this site as soon as we have raised £20,000 ($35000) to do this.  Can you help?

Finally, we send monies to many disaster areas in the world where children are involved. In the past we have sent monies to Pakistan to alleviate the suffering of earthquake victims.

By giving a regular donation through your Bank Account/Pay Pal or by sending a Cheque to River of Life International - you will be helping to make a real difference to all of these children.

Simply phone Alison on 44 (0) 7837955008 or Paul on 44 (0) 7552633188 for a Sponsorship Form or you can print out the form on this website.

You can also send an e-mail to riveroflifeuk@hotmail.com requesting a copy of the Sponsorship Form or you can request one by writing to:

28 Hatherley Road, Gloucester, GL1 4PH, England

If you sponsor a child for a whole year (£60) then we will send you a free teddy with our compliments.

On behalf of all our children in need - in India and Africa a big

How River of Life Began

River of Life began in April 1994 with a vision from God to be a river of love, mercy and compassion to the nations of the world.

Dr Alison Brown initially had a ministry working on the streets of Newton Abbot, Devon, England helping the sick, homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics.

After doing a post-graduate diploma in Theology at Exeter University God sent her out on the mission field with her young son, Paul.  You can read much about their experiences in her book 'Diary of a Missionary'

Alison has spoken at many crusades and conferences throughout Africa, India, Greece, America and the U.K. Time and again she has witnessed the miraculous healing and deliverance power of God. Many churches have sprung up in these nations as a consequence of her ministry.

Alison has also been interviewed many times on radio and television including Revelation T.V., London, U.K. and Family T.V., Kenya.

She continues to visit Africa and India where she is much in demand  as  a public speaker and teacher at leaders conferences.

Her other books include Images of God, 'The End... Prophetic Insights into the Last Days' and 'Diary of a Missionary'.

Alison continues to oversee the schools, orphanages and Bible School she has helped to found as well as an online tuition site called www.skypetuition.co.uk.

In May 2000 she was awarded an honorary doctorate for her contribution to third world education.
